Why You Shouldn’t Buy A Tablet Right Now

There was a time a measly two years ago where a tablet was a kind of necessity for everyone. It seemed that everywhere you went, there was always an iPad or Samsung Tablet lurking in someones hand with a book or movie constantly playing. It was a convenience for many people. It was a distraction for their kids and a productive tool for themselves. So it all seems great. Why am I recommending not to buy a tablet right now? The tablet is in a very awkward position right now. Lets go through history.

When the iPad came out in 2010, most people had a small phone, mostly with a 3.5 inch screen, and a large laptop, usually with a 15 to 17 inch screen. So having a device for casual gaming, reading, and movie watching was ideal for many people. This worked until circa 2012 when small tablets became mainstream starting with the Nexus 7. Many people had a less than 4 inch phone and a small to medium but yet powerful laptop. So, the small tablet category was a perfect fix for the casual uses. But now we get to todays problem. Most of us today have large phones between 4.7 and 6 inches. So the need of a small tablet has been eliminated because of the large screen sizes on smartphones today. So what do we do now. Well to be honest, we can’t do much. While we have been seeing tablet sales decline, there is a perfectly good reason. No one needs it. So what fits in this category? Whatever does fit in this area is the future of technology. And in my opinion, its the new MacBook.
